Automated Service Scene Detection for Badminton Game Analysis Using CHLAC and MRA
نویسندگان
چکیده
Extracting in-play scenes in sport videos is essential for quantitative analysis and effective video browsing of the sport activities. Game analysis of badminton as of the other racket sports requires detecting the start and end of each rally period in an automated manner. This paper describes an automatic serve scene detection method employing cubic higher-order local auto-correlation (CHLAC) and multiple regression analysis (MRA). CHLAC can extract features of postures and motions of multiple persons without segmenting and tracking each person by virtue of shift-invariance and additivity, and necessitate no prior knowledge. Then, the specific scenes, such as serve, are detected by linear regression (MRA) from the CHLAC features. To demonstrate the effectiveness of our method, the experiment was conducted on video sequences of five badminton matches captured by a single ceiling camera. The averaged precision and recall rates for the serve scene detection were 95.1% and 96.3%, respectively. Keywords—Badminton, CHLAC, MRA, Video-based motion detection

Background. Consider the fact that the implementation of aerobic exercise can be effective in the learning and acquisition process, and that training athletes to acquire new skills is appropriately done in terms of the primacy and recency of the training time for aerobic activities such as the warm-up. Objectives. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of moderate-inten...
متن کاملChapter Mark Addition Based on Anomalousness for Surgery Videos Using CHLAC Features
We propose a chapter mark addition method for surgery video application that adopts cubic higher-order local auto-correlation (CHLAC) features. In our method, normal motions, which frequently occur in a scene, are statistically learnt by using CHLAC in combination with the subspace method. An anomalous motion exists far from the subspace of the frequently-observed motions and such motion is det...
متن کامل3D Scene and Object Classification Based on Information Complexity of Depth Data
In this paper the problem of 3D scene and object classification from depth data is addressed. In contrast to high-dimensional feature-based representation, the depth data is described in a low dimensional space. In order to remedy the curse of dimensionality problem, the depth data is described by a sparse model over a learned dictionary. Exploiting the algorithmic information theory, a new def...

Analyzing motion patterns in traffic videos can be exploited directly to generate high-level descriptions of the video contents. Such descriptions may further be employed in different traffic applications such as traffic phase detection and abnormal event detection. One of the most recent and successful unsupervised methods for complex traffic scene analysis is based on topic models. In this pa...
